Technovation Girls Ottawa is a chapter of a global organization, Technovation. The Technovation program equips young girls to become technology entrepreneurs and leaders. With the support of volunteers and staff, girls work in teams to code mobile apps that address real-world problems. Over a period of 12 weeks, teams learn how to develop a concept for an application addressing an issue or need identified in their community, map out a business plan, and create a prototype app, all while learning the basics of marketing and programming.

Program Structure

Teams meet as a group weekly in person. At the weekly meet-ups, volunteers from Carleton University, and the technology & business industry deliver the curriculum, and guest speakers join to inspire the students on related topics. In addition, most teams meet individually each week to work on their apps and businesses.

Location

Each workshop will be offered at Carleton University, 1125 Colonel By Drive.
