As part of the CFI-JELF grant we received, we have been converting three small rooms in Paterson Hall into our Cultural Heritage Informatics Colaboratory spaces. It’s been a long process, but today we started examining the archaeological materials recovered from the homestead of Philemon Wright near Leamy Lake in Hull (Gatineau), courtesy of the NCC.
The room is nowhere near to being fully set up, but it’s an auspicious day: our first day in our new space doing archaeological work! And as far as we know, the first archaeology lab at Carleton U ever.

Here we are, examining some small finds! Several more boxes to go! Jessie Nelson, on left, funded by a SSHRC Partnership Grant with the NCC, and Prof. Laura Banducci on the right.
