Rajib Banik
PhD Student
My name is Rajib Banik, and I have recently been admitted as a Ph.D. student in Civil Engineering (Pavement Engineering) at Carleton University, under the supervision of Dr. Kamal Hossain. I have obtained my Master of Science (MSc) degree in Civil and Transportation Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Bangladesh. For my thesis, I worked on “Paratransit Service Quality Prediction and User Attribute Ranking Using Neural Network and Fuzzy Approach”. Currently, I am working as an Executive Engineer (Civil) at the Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (A Bangladesh Government Organization under the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives), where I oversee critical infrastructure projects and improve my technical and administrative skills. My role has reinforced my understanding of how inefficient drainage and water leakage contribute to road deterioration, traffic disruptions, and environmental hazards in urban areas like Dhaka. With a strong foundation in both research and industry practice, I strive to explore new knowledge and develop innovative solutions in transportation engineering, particularly in pavement design and management as well as urban infrastructure challenges.
