Dr. Mohamed El-Tanany is a Professor in the Department of Systems and Computer Engineering. His research interests include portable communication systems, modulation and error control coding, synchronization of communications receivers, synchronization of TDMA receivers for satellite and mobile radio channels, synchronization of direct sequence and frequency hopped spread spectrum receivers, phase locked loop theory, transient and steady state response to modulated carriers, and electromagnetic wave propagation in layered media, with applications to problems of remote sensing.
