Arezou is an incoming Ph.D. student in Building Engineering at Carleton University and will begin her doctoral studies in Winter 2027 under the supervision of Dr. Cynthia Cruickshank and Dr. Cara Lozinsky. She joined the CABER group in Fall 2026 and is currently pursuing an M.Eng. in Sustainable Energy at Carleton.
She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Architectural Engineering and has several years of professional experience in the building sector. Her background includes preparing and reviewing architectural drawings and technical documentation, conducting site visits and building condition assessments, and preparing technical reports. These experiences have shaped her interest in the relationship between architectural design, building performance, and energy efficiency.
During her doctoral studies, Arezou will investigate building envelope performance and retrofit strategies to support lower energy consumption and improved building durability. Her work will combine experimental testing with heat, air, and moisture modelling to assess how retrofit assemblies perform under Canadian climate conditions and inform their design.
