Chanel Smith
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Chanel joined the CABER team in May of 2023 as an undergraduate research assistant after completing her third year of Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering at Carleton University.
Chanels interest in energy efficient buildings and attaining hands-on research experience are what led her to joining the team.
Throughout her time at CABER, Chanel has assisted PhD and graduate students with their research. She focused most of her time on macro-encapsulating coconut oil for building material integration, to test its use as a phase change material.
