Krista joined the CABER group in September 2023 for her PhD in Building Engineering – Heritage Conservation. She holds a B.Eng in Architectural Conservation and Sustainability Engineering from Carleton University and a Masters in Structural Analysis of Monuments and Historical Constructions (SAHC) from the Czech Technical university in Prague and the Polytechnical University of Catalonia in Spain. Her professional experience includes five years working for an Engineering firm in their Building Science Department doing building envelope restoration.
After working and studying in both the fields of Heritage Conservation and Building Science, Krista is interested in researching hygrothermal performance of heritage buildings and how modern energy and occupant comfort retrofit strategies effect heritage building performance and durability.
