Lubna joined CABER in Fall 2025 after completing her Bachelor of Engineering in Architecture Conservation and Sustainability at Carleton University, where she developed a strong interest in structural engineering and sustainable building design.

With a growing focus on structural performance, her capstone project focused on the structural design of a ten-storey luxury hotel in downtown Ottawa, where she conducted seismic and wind analyses of a reinforced concrete structure using ETABS and Autodesk Revit.

Alongside her studies, she has worked with the Canada Border Services Agency’s (CBSA) Engineering and Design team, assisting with structural load calculations and site layout optimization for several Ports of Entry across Canada.

At CABER, she works under the supervision of Dr. Jeffrey Erochko and co-supervision of Dr. Cynthia Cruickshank, conducting structural evaluations of panelized house construction systems to advance sustainable and resilient housing design in Canada.
