Maria joined CABER in Winter 2026 to pursue her Master’s of Applied Science in Building Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Cynthia Cruickshank and Dr. Hamish Pope.
She earned her Bachelor’s of Engineering in Architectural Conservation and Sustainability Engineering in 2025. Her academic background will provide a strong foundation for her contributions to CABER.
She is researching biogenic insulation materials for use in building envelopes, with a focus on the hygrothermal performance, reduced embodied carbon, and carbon storing potential through modeling and testing.
