Myles Zagar
M.A.Sc. Candidate
Degrees: | B.Eng. (Guelph) |
Myles joined CABER in Summer 2023, beginning work on research for his M.A.Sc. under supervision of Dr. Cynthia Cruickshank. He graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. Myles is interested in developing sustainable solutions to residential buildings that reduce climate impacts and improve the quality of life for building inhabitants. He is working to develop models that will assess the performance and resilience of recent Canadian retrofit pilot projects. These models will be evaluated against future weather data impacted by climate change, as well as extreme weather events and the impact of power outages on occupant comfort. The end goal is for the models to be able to integrate into a larger framework that can optimize effective retrofit solutions.
