Roya Missaghian
M.A.Sc. Student
Degrees: | B.Eng |
Roya graduated from Carleton University with a bachelor’s degree in Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering in April 2024 from Carleton University. She joined CABER as a research assistant and M.A.Sc. candidate in Sustainable Energy and Policy in May 2024.
She was a co-op student at the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), where she led experiments on a biogas-diesel dual-fuel engine, and where her passion for research began. Roya also has a passion for sustainability, which grew while working on her fourth-year capstone project. The project’s goal was to provide a net-zero electricity solution for Ottawa with nuclear energy.
Roya hopes to combine her passions for research and sustainability by working at CABER and providing sustainable building retrofit solutions. Her research interests include ventilated air cavities, retrofitting for extreme weather conditions, and hygrothermal modeling.
