Stephen graduated from Carleton University in 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Conservation and Sustainability Engineering. He joined CABER as a research assistant and M.A.Sc student in Building Science Engineering focused on building performance in 2025 under the supervision of Dr. Cynthia Cruickshank and Dr. Brock Conley.
Stephen is researching the differences between Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) and industry standard rainscreen claddings via in-situ testing, which focuses on the hygrothermal differences between different construction configurations. Additional research involves the electrical efficiency of the BIPV and comparing the durability of the BIPV wall assembly to a standard rainscreen wall.
