Patrick Lamers of Energy and Climate Strategies at the Berlin office of Dutch company ECOFYS examines the state of the renewable energy industry in Canada and in Europe. Lamers compares the different natural resources available for hydro, wind and solar energy. He outlines the need for a stable policy and legal environment to ensure further technological advances as well as for realizing the commercial potential of the industry. The interview was conducted by Canada-Europe Transatlantic Dialogue’s Helen Morris during the recent Climate Day Conference in Ottawa (May 20, 2009).
