The Jean Monnet Network on EU-Canada Relations recently hosted an international research conference, “Global Economic Relations in the Trump Era and After, Policy Options for the EU and Canada.” This conference, which took place on January 31, 2020 at Carleton University, brought together scholars from the fields of political science, economics, and law to assess and discuss developments in global trade and investment policy.

We are pleased to announce that the presentation slides from this conference have been published as part of the Network’s multimedia content at the following link: https://carleton.ca/caneunet/global-economic-relations-in-the-trump-era-policy-options-for-the-eu-and-canada-january-31-2020-multimedia-content/

Video recordings of each panel will be published in the coming weeks at the same locations. This content will also available at the conference event page.

We are also pleased to announce an upcoming Jean Monnet Network podcast by Dr. Dirk De Bièvre. This podcast will touch on some themes from the conference, particularly the politicization of EU trade agreements.

Finally, we are excited to announce the publication of a policy brief by Network researcher Joan DeBardeleben. This policy brief, “Moving Beyond Crisis Management in Relations with
Russia: The EU, US, and Canada”, is available at: https://carleton.ca/caneunet/jean-monnet-network-publications/
