Research Associate/post-doc Positions Available In Air And Wastewater Surveillance Of Pathogens
Prof. Banu Örmeci’s research group in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada) is seeking several post-doctorate scholars and/or research associates/scientists to support projects on air and wastewater surveillance for emerging viruses and pathogens. We are looking for highly motivated candidates with strong research interests in the application of environmental microbiology and molecular biology to wastewater engineering and the detection and transmission of airborne pathogens and bioaerosols. Successful candidates will be heavily involved in journal paper and report writing, and strong writing skills are required. This is an initial one-year appointment with the possibility of renewals. The positions are available immediately (as of April 15, 2024), and applications will be accepted until they are filled. The salary will be based on qualifications and experience. Prof. Banu Örmeci’s research group in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada) is seeking post-doctorate scholars or research associates/scientists for the investigation of occurrence, fate, removal, and transport of micro and nanoplastics during wastewater treatment and after land application of biosolids. We are looking for highly motivated candidates with strong research interests in the application of analytical methods, advanced microscopy, environmental microbiology, molecular biology or toxicology to micro and nanoplastics in wastewater, biosolids, and soil samples.
