Beth McLarty Halfkenny is Curator and Outreach Coordinator in the Department of Earth Sciences at Carleton University. Curatorial responsibilities include management of extensive rock, mineral, fossil, gemstone, map collections, microscopes and field equipment. Through the Earth Sciences Outreach Program, Beth provides informal geoscience education opportunities for youth, teachers and the public. Beth is a member of the National Committee of the EdGEO Canadian Earth Science Teacher Workshop Program, the Ottawa Gatineau Geoheritage Project, and currently serves as President of the Canadian Geoscience Education Network (CGEN), and is the Educational Outreach Director at the Canadian Federation of Earth Sciences.
