John Meissner is an Ottawa, Canada based psychologist who has worked in children’s mental health clinics, school boards, and colleges and universities. He is a co-founder of the FITA program at Carleton University and focuses on real world solutions to address the academic and mental health struggles faced by students.
How are you currently involved in community-campus partnerships for teaching, research or otherwise?
At the FITA program we provide internships for graduate students in counselling and social work to develop skills in an evidence based counselling environment to demonstrably improve student well being and academic performance for Carleton students. We are training counsellors for the future who then contribute across the national capital.
