Lorraine has been active as a board member with Dalhousie Food Cupboard for several years. She was introduced to this community food bank serving Ottawa’s West Centretown-Little Italy area by a former colleague at CCOC, one of the city’s private non-profit housing organizations. She initially took on the Treasurer spot, a role that spanned 2013 to 2018. When Lorraine retired as CCOC’s Finance Director in 2018-19, she decided to explore more “mainstream” activities within the charitable sector. She is still working with the food bank, but these days, she is trying to get “out and about” and help the charity to broaden its profile and connect more with its community
