Data science is poised to disrupt many existing fields, from fraud detection to marketing. However, the move from traditional analysis to big data analytics is not a trivial one. In this presentation, Robin Grosset will cover the process of incorporating advanced analytic techniques into new areas and the challenges this presents

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Robin Grosset has a track record as an entrepreneur having worked in and founded successful software startups which resulted in him joining IBM in 2008 through an acquisition. He has over 20 years commercial experience in the field of Business Analytics and holds over 10 patents in areas as diverse and data processing, knowledge representation and security. At IBM he was appointed an IBM Distinguished Engineer. He was technical lead and chief architect for Watson Analytics a ground breaking cognitive analytics system that won InfoWeek’s Product of the Year Award in 2016. Today Robin leads the MindBridge development team creating the next generation of fraud detection and prevent technology based on machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Robin holds a first class honours degree in both Physics and Computing Science from the University of Newcastle in the UK.
