Abstract
There is a lot of hype about AI disrupting and transforming business, replacing humans, creating societal chaos, etc. What is the actual state of AI implementation in a business context? How does one go about applying a bleeding edge technology to provide value and differentiating services? What are the transformative opportunities that we have pursued and where have we seen value?

Valerie Turner – Vice President MD Financial Services
Valerie Turner is a member of the Dragonfly incubator lab, and leads MDM’s disruptive technology practice, identifying and building out opportunities using Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Blockchain technologies. Valerie has created an ecosystem leveraging a variety of partners, including University labs, Industry partners, start-ups and medium sized technology companies to create products that not only differentiate MDM, but also have a path to new revenue through partnerships and collaborations. Valerie leads the effort to identify and exploit horizon 3 opportunities, driven by technology and social disruption. She is a sought after speaker, having provided keynote speeches on disruption and opportunity, served as panel moderator, and given talks on disruption, building an ecosystem, partnerships and collaboration.
Valerie is an enterprise leader with a strong track record of success informing, influencing and enabling business outcomes, in overseeing large and complex multi stakeholder projects, in creating and restructuring organizations, and in building relationships with partners and clients in complex and political environments.
Passionate about creating a culture which enables individuals to be their best and do their best; Valerie is also an active and enthusiastic coach and mentor with a commitment to growing and mentoring the next generation of leaders.
Valerie has extensive experience in technology, innovation, human resources and strategic planning, and previous roles have included VP Technology, CTO, Associate CIO, Director e-Strategy, Assistant Director HR, and Assistant Director, Strategy.
Valerie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brock University and Master of e-Business Technologies from the University of Ottawa.
