Following the G8 Summit at Camp David and the NATO Summit in Chicago, more than one hundred diplomats, parliamentarians, political staffers, students and other guests listened to an expert panel explore future directions for Canadian foreign and defence policy.

Panelists included Chris Alexander, Member of Parliament and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Defense and former Canadian Ambassador to Afghanistan; Paul Chapin, Vice-President of the Conference of Defense Associations Institute; and James Wright, former Canadian High Commissioner to the U.K. and former Political/Security Director for the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

Dr. Fen Hampson, Chancellor’s Professor and Director of the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, moderated the question and answer session that followed and Dr.  Paul Wilson from the Clayton H. Riddell Graduate Program in Political Management offered closing remarks.
