How do we make systems we trust from systems we can’t? How do we ensure the integrity of information and identities on an open Internet? And what will the role of government be? These were some of the questions that panelists discussed at a special panel and reception held Monday, March 9, 2015 at 1 Wellington Street.
Jane Holl Lute, President and CEO of the Council on Cybersecurity and former Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security, joined Paul Milkman, Senior Vice President, Technology Risk Management and Information Security, TD Bank Group and John Proctor, Vice-President, Global Cyber Security, CGI.
Peter Hammerschmidt, Director General, National Cyber Security Directorate, Public Safety Canada, provided a public sector viewpoint in the discussion moderated by Fen Hampson, Co-Director of the Global Commission on Internet Governance and Chancellor’s Professor, Carleton University.
More than 160 Members of Parliament, Senators, staffers, senior government officials from PMO, PCO, DFATD, NRCan, Public Safety Canada registered along with Ambassadors and other senior diplomats, business and non-governmental organizations plus Carleton students and faculty.
