Aaron is a part-time instructor of English at the University of Ottawa. In addition to publishing a monograph on representations of Jews in British fiction, Aaron has edited novels in a variety of genres. As a freelance editor, Aaron has worked with aspiring scholars and seasoned professionals alike to develop their ideas and writing in both academic and public-facing documents.

Given my current role as a course instructor in essay writing and literature, as well as an editor, the value of my English degrees at Carleton are self-evident. That said, I received an incredible amount of support in terms of improving my abilities as a writer and scholar during my time at Carleton.

In particular, I attended a grad school application workshop headed by Prof. Brian Greenspan during which I learned a lot about how to decide on and further my academic career goals. As a result of the workshop, I took an extra year of English courses, which is why I have both a Bachelor of Humanities and a separate English BA from Carleton.

Between that extra year and the 1-year MA (which was up there for one of the best years of my life both for how much I learned and for how much fun I had), I owe the foundations of my outlook as an English scholar to the profs at Carleton with whom I spent the most time. The Carleton English department is home to many dedicated professors and a general atmosphere of collaboration and forward thinking in scholarship that I’ve emulated in my own writing, teaching, and mentoring.
