Carleton University has an inventor owns IP policy. This policy significantly facilitates initiating partnerships with Industry partners and enables them to own 100% of the IP developed during a partnership if the principal investigator agrees.
We can often attract up to $4 for every $1 cash contribution from industry partners though a variety of federal, provisional and other funding agencies and define projects from 4 months up to 5 years. Often, the industry partner qualifies to receive additional non-diluting funding from NRC-IRAP program and they also qualify for the Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) Tax Incentive Program.
Our goal is adding value to our industrial partner and significantly reduce the risk and cost of new technology development and their research and development program.
Partners:

If you are interested to collaborate with us, Please contact Prof. Kholghy and we will work with Carleton’s Industry Partnership Services to establish a path forward.
We encourage all our students and partners to educate themselves on IP definition and strategy.
