State of the EU – University of Victoria

On June 9th and 10th, 2015, the EUCE at UVic will be hosting the second of three ‘State of the EU in Canada and in the Pacific Asia’ conferences.

The call for papers is open!

The conference will focus on the nature of EU relations with Canada, the US, and the Pacific Asia region. Students from various disciplines working on diverse topics are encouraged to apply. Topics could include: free trade agreements, arctic/maritime issues, governance, business, EU in the media, energy/sustainability. If you are interested, but unsure of your topic, please contact  for more information.

Application: Submit no more than a 100-­‐word abstract of your paper to eusprog@uvic.ca with “4.1-­‐State of the EU Proposal” in the subject line. In the email, please include department, institution, degree pursuing (ie. MA or PhD) and year in your program.

Deadline for paper abstracts April 24, 2015.

We will provide local accommodation and cover local costs during the conference.

Funding is available for travel costs to/from Victoria.UVic’s EUCE hosts this event thanks to generous funding from the European Union Center for Excellence Grant, and with support of several EUCE partners across Canada, at the University of Washington, and at Taiwan and Kyushu (Japan).
