Xiaofei Han is a PhD candidate in Communication and Media Studies. From her previous experience working as a marketing communication professional in Beijing, Xiaofei has developed a keen interest in the commodification models of major Chinese platforms and internet companies. Her current works look into the monetization strategies, the emergent trans-platform value chains and cultural politics of Chinese e-commerce livestreaming as well as the platformization process that livestreaming facilitates in not only online cultural production but manufacturing and agriculture in Chinese society.
