Care cartography https://mapee.com.ar/ciscsa/mapadelcuidado/

This interactive map proposes to advance in the identification and systematization of public, private and community care services and infrastructures in the city of Córdoba, from the perspective of feminist urbanism and the conceptual approach of Women’s Right to the City. Are there -or not- public and/or private care services and infrastructures to care for these populations -children from 0 to 3 years of age and older people over 65 years of age- and how are they distributed in the territory? This cartography is committed to promoting the incorporation of the gender perspective and women’s human rights in care policies. Maps and cartographies are graphic representation instruments that allow us to locate a variable amount of information: We can locate data, geolocate places, characterize types of populations and territories, among others.

Master Class “Care and Territories” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nmk2qy68uZ0

In this class from the CISCSA Feminist Training Center, Ana Falú, Eva Lía Colombo, Rocío López Arzuaga and Emilia Balacco (members of the work team of the care projects that we develop) address the issue of care in depth: they share concepts, data and reflections on the subject and tell how the work process was with the women of the Alberdi, Marechal and Villa Páez neighbourhoods. In addition, they present the Cartography of Care: how was its realization process, what is the importance of cartographic tools for research and how to navigate this interactive map.

Document “Cities and neighbourhoods. Care infrastructures, gender and social redistribution in Argentina”

How much and how are the sexual division of labor and care tasks related to urban planning and public policies? How much does the territory intervene in its different and unequal urban fragments to reproduce gender inequalities and injustices? In this article, Ana Falú and Eva Lia Colombo examine the theoretical approach to women’s right to the city, meaning the intersection of women and their conditions, with those located in the territories they inhabit. Also, the article gives an account of the methodology used to generate information on care in its different types, towards the analysis of the territories and the development of care cartographies or maps, to basically answer who cares in the city’s neighborhoods and shed light on territorial and gender injustices. The authors develop an in-depth analysis of the findings obtained through the mapping method, valuing the variable of the territory and its conditions together with those of women and their circumstances. The last section gives an account of the stories of the women caregivers who work in community spaces, as well as the women caregivers who make use of these services and infrastructures in three neighborhoods og Córdoba City, Argentina. The document closes with a reflection on the necessary transformation in planning and urbanism from the contribution of feminism, in relation to the public and the private, the sexual division of labor, the concept of the use of time -asymmetrical and different in men and women. women- added to the vector of space and territory.
