Learn how to see professional development as a process that requires both action and analysis, and which draws upon skills that graduate students and postdocs already possess. Begin developing a professional development strategy that will boost your level of employability.
This workshop is part of the series Establish Your Career Narrative. The series consists of the workshops “Identify Your Skills,” “Explore the Job Market,” and “Enhance Your Employability”
Learning outcomes:
- Explain the premise and main sections of the Individual Development Plan, and particularly the section on exploring the job market
- Make a list of skills to be acquired or enhanced over the next 12 months
- Create plan for acquiring new skills through academic and non-academic professional development activities
