Formatting your Thesis Using Word

“Begin as you mean to go on.” Or, format your research document before you start to write so that you can easily finalize your thesis, dissertation or other research project and submit your work on time.
In this hands-on workshop designed for students in the arts and social sciences, we introduce participants to basic functions in Microsoft Word that allow them to format documents so that they leave with a template for their research project.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to use functions in MS Word to:
- Choose a theme or style
- Create a table of contents using headings and sub-headings
- Add captions to images and figures

Note: Enrollment for this workshop is capped at 20 participants.
All graduate students are welcome. For those working as TAs this term, hours spent in this workshop can count toward paid pedagogical training hours.
