Abstract

The TED Effect is all about learning to use TED-style story telling techniques to amplify your communication skills when presenting your research in public. This session will help you explore some simple yet powerful tips that make talks memorable and effective in any situation. There will be opportunity to practice and refine your “elevator pitch” using a  formula that can be adapted to various audiences. You will learn a proven story approach that will enable you to communicate your research quickly and clearly in ways that are accessible and meaningful to academic and non-academic audiences alike.

Learning to talk like TED helps to take the terror out of public speaking whether you are presenting an end of term paper, a poster presentation or reporting to a team.

The TED Effect holds the key to helping you communicate so that your audience will understand and want to know more.
