Amanda Dobbie is the leadership development officer in the Office of Quality Initiatives. She has been at Carleton University for over 12 years. In her current role, she manages the development of Carleton Leader across faculty and staff units and assists in furthering the learning and developing initiative at Carleton.
Amanda’s coaching philosophy
Coaching is the ability to look at ourselves more objectively. The process enables us to see how we can often get in our own way, how we can overcome that and tangible actions to move us forward. It helps us make meaning of our reality and move us forward to our potential.

Coaching shows us that we have the power to achieve the things we want most. This leads to new motivations, actions and decisions that often result in exponentially positive outcomes. Through co-creative conversations, my role is to help you find a clearer picture of what it is you want or need and with that image, co-create action plans to develop your opportunities.
