The Office of the Associate Vice-President Indigenous Teaching, Learning and Research supports Indigenous faculty, develops Indigenous pedagogical tools and guides the Ānako Indigenous Research Institute and other research initiatives.
“We call for the rapid implementation of the structural changes necessary for the consolidation of all Indigenous initiatives through the establishment of a separate office for the Centre for Indigenous Initiatives…for example, a Director for the Centre of Indigenous Initiatives and an Associate Vice-President of Indigenous Initiatives.“

The Kinàmàgawin Report
Drafted by Carleton’s Strategic Indigenous Initiatives Committee in 2020, the Kinàmàgawin report is a revitalized long-term Indigenous strategy with 41 Calls to Action to make Carleton a more welcoming space for current and future Indigenous students and faculty members.
The Office of the Associate Vice-President Indigenous Teaching, Learning and Research supports the creation of positions deemed critical for Indigenous representatives, which oversee and administer the implementation of Indigenous initiatives on campus.
