The Office of the AVP Indigenous Teaching, Learning and Research (AVPITLR) publishes an e-newsletter called Nenìnàwinigewining.
Nenìnàwinigewining, which means “a place of sharing” in Algonquin, provides a platform to explore and celebrate the work of Carleton’s Indigenous faculty, staff and students. The newsletter also includes updates from Kahente Horn-Miller, Associate Vice-President Indigenous Teaching, Learning and Research, and information about projects within the Ānako Indigenous Research Institute.
The newsletter’s name was provided by Algonquin elder and speaker, Joan Tenasco. The name demonstrates the newsletter’s role as a space for gathering in celebration, sharing in appreciation and distributing information about Indigenous teaching, learning and research on campus and beyond.
