The Sensor Systems and Internet of Things Lab at Carleton University is proud to announce that Professor Mohamed Ibnkahla has been named the NSERC/Cisco Industrial Research Chair (IRC) in Sensor Networks for the Internet of Things (IoT)

With over 20 billions devices connected to the internet today, the Internet of Things has became a very prominent field in terms of research and development. As the NSERC/Cisco Industrial Chair, Prof. Ibnkahla will supervise the research and development of IoT system architectures, IoT enabling technologies, IoT communication and networking protocols that will enable real-world deployment and fast and efficient adoption of IoT systems in applications like smart buildings, smart grids, energy management, safety and urban traffic management
