Congratulations to Faraj Lagum, Jaspal Singh, Samia Barouni, Mohamed Ibnkahla, and Zied Bouida for winning the 2nd Prize Best Poster Award in Carleton University’s DataDay 7.1, (March 2021). This prize was a recognition of their works entitled “Machine learning-based textual and sentiment analysis of covid-19 social media data: City of Ottawa case”. In this work, the team builds an autonomous system powered by machine learning to collect COVID-19 pandemic-related data from social media platforms and analyze this data to estimate sentiments and find the main topics of discussion.
The poster committee judges the posters based on their design, organization, clarity of the presentation and scientific contribution.
