Biography

Samia Barouni received the Diplôme d’Ingénieur degree (B.Sc.) in Computer Networks and Telecommunications engineering from Institut National des Sciences Appliquées et de Technologie (INSAT)  Tunis, Tunisia, on February 2003. She received the Master of Science degree (M.Sc.) in Telecommunications from École Supérieure des Communications de Tunis (Sup’Com), Tunis, Tunisia, in December 2005. She is currently a research fellow at the systems and computer engineering department at Carleton University. Before joining the Sensor Systems and Internet Of Things Lab at Carleton, Samia Barouni worked as a Faculty Member with the Computer Technology Department at ISET DJERBA, Tunisia, for more than ten years. She also served as Lecture with the Computer Sciences Department at Umm Al Qura University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for three years. Samia Barouni is IBM Certified for Educators in Security Intelligence Engineer. She is also CISCO Certified (CCNA) and Microsoft Certified in Database MTA 98-364, Security MTA 98-367, Networking  MTA98-366, HTML5 Application Development MTA 98-375

Research Interests

Samia Barouni’s research interests include Machine-learning application, Textual and Sentimental data analysis, fuzzy logic in the control system, Modeling and Simulation of Computer Networks and Systems, auditing of cybersecurity and IoT applications.
