Yousef received his B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in Computer Engineering in 2013 and 2017 respectively from Kuwait University, Kuwait. He was awarded the best undergraduate project award from Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS) and received the Graduate Academic Excellence Scholarship from Kuwait University. His master’s thesis was on Implementation of Energy-efficient Routing Algorithms for Software Defined Networks. From 2014 to 2017 he served as an instructor and taught C++, Java, networks, wireless and mobile and databases.

Since 2018, he is pursuing his Ph.D. degree in the Systems and Computer Engineering department at Carleton University, Canada. His current research interests include network optimization, edge computing, NFV, IoT and energy efficient routing.
