Dr. Majid Komeili is Associate Professor in the School of Computer Science at Carleton University, Director of the Intelligent Machines Lab (iML), a faculty affiliate in the Institute for Data Science, and the Accessibility Institute at Carleton University. He conducts fundamental and applied research in machine learning and related areas in natural language processing and computer vision, with a focus on generative AI, large language models (LLMs), multimodal LLMs and explainable AI. His work has been featured in CTV News, CFRA Radio, The Globe and Mail, Canadian Press, Ottawa Citizen, The Charlaton, and Toronto SUN. Before joining Carleton, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto, working jointly with the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and the Vector Institute. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Toronto.
