Hi, my name is Julia, and I am one of the ESL Conversation Group volunteers! I decided to volunteer because ESL programs like this were helpful for my family when they immigrated from Poland to Canada. Volunteering as an ESL Conversation Group volunteer is also a way for me to practice what I am learning from my major in Applied Linguistics and Discourse Studies (ALDS) and the Certificate of Teaching English as a Second Language (CTESL) that I am completing concurrently. Besides English and a bit of Polish, I also know a bit of American Sign Language (ASL) and French. My hobbies and interests are dancing, hiking, kayaking, and reading. I’m excited to meet and learn about everyone during the upcoming sessions!
