Leah is an honours cognitive science student with a concentration in cognition and psychology. She got started in the lab through an independent study with Dr. Rebecca Merkley, examining bilingual children’s early number learning. Leah spent the summer of 2024 in the lab under an NSERC undergraduate student research award, supervised by Dr. Jo-Anne LeFevre. Leah is working on her honours thesis with Dr. Rebecca Merkley and Dr. Jo-Anne LeFevre as she finishes her bachelor’s of cognitive science. Her honours thesis looks at quantity recognition in young children, she is especially concerned with the time-point at which children begin to subitize the number three.
