Mme Janice Charette, Associate Secretary to Cabinet and Deputy Minister for Intergovernmental Affairs, joined Prof. Paul Wilson’s course Political Management 5002 (Institutions and Governance II) to share her expertise on federalism.  She  discussed with the students how “the business of federalism is deeply engrained in the day to day life of Canadians.”  She also commented on the diversity of cross jurisdictional issues that do not fit the standard constitutional division of powers.  “The reality,” she observed, “is that today no one issue fits in a single department let alone in a single level of government.”
