Political Management Program alumna Kailey Vokes has been appointed Director of Policy (Major Projects) for Ontario Premier Doug Ford. Vokes previously served as Director of Policy for Transportation and Francophone Affairs Minister Caroline Mulroney and as Director of Legislative Affairs and Issues for Finance Minister Vic Fedeli.
In her new role, Vokes is responsible for overseeing the development of policy in the areas of transportation, infrastructure, municipal affairs and housing, auto insurance, and francophone affairs. She provides advice to the premier on these files and works to ensure that provincial policy is consistent with the government’s mandate and the premier’s priorities.
Vokes, who graduated with a master’s degree in political management in 2013, says that the program provided her with “hands-on, realistic instructions and assignments” that prepared her “for the intensity of working in political offices.” She added that the program was an “incredible experience” that allowed her to “build lasting friendships across party lines.”
