Students and alumni of the MPM program sat down for a roundtable conversation with the Hon. Jill Dunlop, Ontario’s Minister of Colleges and Universities, and MPP for Simcoe North.
Carleton President Benoit-Antoine Bacon joined the conversation, highlighting growth and key networks in the MPM program and the broader Carleton community.
Minister Dunlop was keen to hear from past, current, and in-coming students about the deep work-integrated learning that is at the core of the program. Listening to students describe the professional graduate training and workplace learning through the mandatory practicum, Minister Dunlop reflected on her own experience as an educator, helping to connect students to employers and organizations in the community.
The Minister also shared some advice with students aspiring to work in a ministerial office and noted the importance of opportunities, like the MPM, to prepare political staff and leaders in political management.
