Dmytro Basmat is the founder and CEO of Forefront Insights – a strategic consulting firm offering communications, public relations, campaign and branding services. He also works as a North American News Editor for the Kyiv Independent, reporting on news stemming from Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Basmat previously worked in Canadian politics as a spokesperson and communications lead for the Liberal Party of Canada. Prior to working in national politics, Basmat managed multiple political campaigns, created various social advocacy awareness campaigns in Ontario, and served as the Executive Director of Youth Activists Inc.
Basmat is especially passionate about political campaigns and media relations, having experience working with the both the media and political candidates. In his spare time, Basmat has volunteered with and advocated on behalf of the Ukrainian-Canadian community. In addition to his master’s degree in Political Management, Basmat also holds a bachelor’s degree in Politics and Governance from Toronto Metropolitan University.
