Manager, Public Affairs at McMaster University
Joseph is a Manager, Public Affairs with McMaster University, where he oversees the institution’s federal government relations activities. Prior to taking up this position, Joseph served as a Senior Consultant at NATIONAL Public Relations, where he was the leading hand with the government relations team, as they develop and execute government affairs strategies for a wide range of clients.
He rejoined the firm following two years spent as a government relations professional in London, UK where he was responsible for developing strategy and undertaking government relations activities for a not-for-profit professional organization. This provided him with opportunities to deal with wide ranging issues facing Great Britain, including Brexit, skills, and productivity, as well as the chance to experience a British election.
Prior to moving to the UK, he spent three and a half years with NATIONAL Public Relations in Ottawa, learning the craft of lobbying and becoming adept in the field of public affairs. He was responsible for leading important files in the energy, education and transport sectors. During his undergrad at McMaster University, Joseph served as Vice President (Education) with the student’s union, responsible for lobbying the federal, provincial and municipal governments on behalf of students.
