Monica is an experienced parliamentary professional with a strong focus on foreign affairs, national security, and intelligence. She currently serves as Director of Parliamentary Affairs for Bruce Fanjoy, Member of Parliament for Carleton, where she advises on parliamentary affairs, supports legislative work, and serves the constituents of Carleton. Her experience spans multiple roles in Parliament, including Legislative Assistant in the Office of Ron McKinnon, where she supported him as the Chair of the Public Safety and National Security Committee (SECU), and Research Assistant for Senator Peter M. Boehm on the National Defence and Veteran Affairs Committee (SECD).

Monica earned her Master’s in Political Management (MPM) from Carleton University, receiving the Clayton H. Riddell Award and Jaimie Anderson Scholarship, and she holds a Bachelor of Global and International Studies in Global Politics from Carleton University.

She has actively engaged in the political process as she was apart of the winning campaign team for Ron McKinnon in Coquitlam–Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. She has also been recognized with a Long Service Award for five years of service at the House of Commons of Canada.

With a career bridging research, policy, and legislative strategy, Monica brings a deep understanding of parliamentary operations and national security issues, combined with a commitment to advancing Canada’s role in global governance and strengthening international security and diplomacy.

Choosing MPM was truly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Every day class was engaging and energizing, thanks to the outstanding professors, fascinating guest speakers, and insightful peers I had the chance to learn with. I love MPM!
