Sébastien Togneri
Lobby Coordinator - Chief Opposition Whip
Degrees: | MPM/12 |
As a lifetime political staffer, I have had the opportunity to work in my field at the provincial, federal and international level. I started as a page in Nova Scotia and parliamentary tour guide in Ottawa before working my way up in Conservative politics in Ottawa from a legislative assistant to Director of Parliamentary Affairs for Minister Christian Paradis during the Harper administration. I also worked provincially for the Wildrose/UCP in opposition in Alberta as well as working for the Minister of Energy and Mines in the Christy Clark administration in British Columbia. Working as both a short term and long term elections observer in the Republic of Georgia and Ukraine for a number of elections allowed me to work as a political parties advisor for a very rewarding year in Morocco with the International Republican Institute (IRI). I now serve the Chief Opposition Whip as the lobby coordinator as we present our Leader Pierre Poilievre to Canadians in an attempt to replace the Liberals as the governing party.
“The MPM program came at a very professionally challenging time in my life. I was looking for a program that could help me overcome my challenges and it did so. My work placement was in a small town in the Republic of Georgia called Telavi where I learned to write reports for international observation missions. The work and the masters degree helped resurrect my reputation and my professional credentials in politics. Thank you to the MPM program.” – Sebastien Togneri
