Originally from Chernivtsi, Ukraine, Walter (a.k.a. Volodymyr) moved to Canada with a strong passion for community and professional development. In Ukraine, he completed a Master’s Degree in Political Science from Chernivtsi National University. Demonstrating his commitment to social change, he was elected as Student President of Ukraine and coordinated the Chernivtsi Euromaidan, part of the Revolution of Dignity in Ukraine.

In Canada, while starting his career as a marketing manager in Toronto, he founded the Vyshyvanka Association, introducing Vyshyvanka Day to Canada. From parades to Canada-wide programs, his collaborative efforts with the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress continue to unite the Ukrainian community and all its supporters and friends.

Walter’s commitment to community service is evident through his various roles in the local and national Ukrainian Canadian Congress, which led his career to Parliament Hill. Recognized as one of the ’30 under 30′ Ukrainian Diaspora Leaders by the Ukrainian World Congress, Walter has initiated a number of projects to support Ukraine and the Ukrainian-Canadian community.

In 2023, he advanced his education by graduating from the Clayton H. Riddell Graduate Program in Political Management at Carleton University.

Walter is a proud husband and father.
