The MPM Accelerated Pathway is available to Carleton University undergraduate students in related fields of study interested in pursuing Political Management courses and/or continued studies in the Master of Political Management. Being accepted within the MPM Accelerated Pathway does not guarantee admission into the Master of Political Management.
Requirements:
- Approval for the Accelerated Pathway is typically done in the winter term of a student’s third year.
- Students must complete one (1) of POLM 3000 / PSCI 3410 / COMS 3100 and have an overall minimum CPGA of A-.
- Must receive a B+ or higher in POLM 5000 level courses to receive advanced standing if they are admitted to the MPM program.
- Only elective POLM courses are open to non-MPM students. Review MPM Course Descriptions.
- The following core courses are not available to those in the Accelerated Pathway:
- POLM 5007 Writing in a Political Context
- POLM 5008 Ethics in Political Management
- POLM 5009 Media Relations
- POLM 5018 Strategic Communications
- The following core courses are not available to those in the Accelerated Pathway:
Process:
- Student completes one (1) of POLM 3000 / PSCI 3410 / COMS 3100 as a part of their undergraduate studies.
- The Accelerated Pathway Form is to be filled out by the student and signed by their Undergraduate Administrator before sending to the MPM Administrator for final approval.
- Once approved, students can submit a Registration Override Request in Carleton Central
