Morteza Mohemmi is a PhD student at Carleton University. He received his master’s degree in earthquake engineering from the Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Sajjad University. Morteza’s research interests include finite element modeling, reinforced concrete structures, structural control, and optimization. He has five years of experience working in a consulting engineering company in Iran as a structural engineer. He is currently conducting numerical and experimental research on 3D printing concrete structures. He works on finite element modeling alongside the assessment and improvement of seismic performance of 3D-printed concrete structures using small- and large-scale tests. He also serves as a teaching assistant in the Civil Engineering Department of Carleton University for different courses.
